Syllabus Plus allows you to create templates for special reports and output files. When you want to print a report, or save data in a certain way in Syllabus Plus you must use a template.

A standard set of templates contained in a file called QUTprint.ptm is available from the Timetabling page on the web. This file should be stored in C:\splus35\printing i.e. in the Printing directory within the Splus 33 directory on your computer's hard disk. (If you don't have this file see the red box below.)

Click here to download the QUTprint.ptm file. Save the file in C:\splus33\printing.

Every time you create a new image you must reload your templates. For example, whenever you download a fresh read-only timetable file you must reload your templates.

1. Open Syllabus Plus and leave the Institution window displayed.

2. Click on the File menu and select the Template Organiser option.

The Template Organiser window will appear.

4. Locate the template file e.g. QUTprint.ptm which should be in C:\splus33\printing.

Click on the template file and click on the Open button.

The Template Organiser window will appear, and all of the templates in the file that you have just opened will be listed on the left hand side.

6. Block all of the templates on the left hand side.

o Click on the Copy>> button. The templates will be copied into your computer's memory.
o Click on the Close button.

All of the templates are now in memory. Save your image now. The next time you open your image the templates will be available.

Remember: Whenever you create a new image (e.g. when you load a fresh read-only file) you must follow this procedure to load the templates.
