Programs of Study (POS) |

A Program of Study (POS) consists of the modules (units) leading to the award or qualification that a student is enrolled in, per planning period (ie semester or year). A student can undertake one or more Modules as part of their Programme of Study. We identify a POS by its Code, Major, Status, Intake, Year and Semester. For example, students doing the first semester of a Bachelor of Social Science degree with a Human Services major would have the following POS-depending on their status
The POS will have a mixture of subjects that students must chose (Core Modules) and subjects are electives (Optional Modules). When you are preparing your POS use Course Summary Sheets, or Student Handbook entries which accurately describe the units available to students. The purpose of a POS is to avoid modules (units) clashing where required. To create a POS:
